Another explanation is that the name comes from two words “coal” and “beduhur”. The word bara said to have originated from the word monastery, while there are also other explanations where the coal comes from Sanskrit which means temple or monastery complex and beduhur meaning is “high”, or to remind the Balinese language means “above”. So the point is a monastery or hostel located on high ground.

Archaeological Tourism in Metro Station, Athens

Since landing in Athens and continue the journey with the metro, I repeatedly praised the means of transport in Athens. At the airport there Akropoli museum, while the number of stations display archaeological objects and works of art. The first surprise that I feel when out of the metro at the station Acropolis. So come out to the station, right next to the escalator toward the exit stairs, there are a number of ancient Greek sculptures lined up as if to welcome me. Although the statue was only a replica, but still arouse passions tourists to take pictures and photos together.

At first I thought the statues like that only exist in Akropoli station, closest to the area of the Acropolis. Apparently in some metro stations in the city, providing space to display art objects. In fact at Monastiraki station there is an area that shows the remains of ancient buildings in the form of rivers. On top of it and then built a glass floor so that if we were walking past him as if to cross the river in ancient Greece.

I was amazed. Be my travel by metro, up and down in some stations just to enjoy the various works of art displayed there.

1. St. Evangelismos
2. St. Syntagma
3. St. Panepitimio
4. St. Monastiraki
