Heat in the Himalayas

Manali known as the queen of hill stations in the Himalayas of India, replete with stunning scenery and fun with all its natural gifts. Surrounded by peaks of high hills, the small streets for bicycles and pedestrians, the area was popular as a honeymoon destination and known for its vast natural beauty.

Located 24 miles from Kulu to the north, Manali is situated near the border of the end of the valley on the National Highway leading to Leh. Natural contours so stunning here. One can clearly see the mountain peaks covered with snow. You can see Beas River with its crystal water clear crossing urban areas.
On the other hand there are many different types of trees such as pine and cedar, a small meadow and orchard which is a perfect place for a vacation, a favorite resting place for the tourists who want to go to Lahaul, Spiti, Kinnaur, Leh and Zanskar in Kashmir valley. This place was known as the Switzerland of India.

Manali market crowded with shops selling Tibetan handicrafts tribe, filled with delicious aroma of cooked noodles from small restaurants around. There are hiking technical school, is a popular hangout for walkers and mountain climbing in summer and ski in the winter. Manali is also an offer to the tourists who love to climb.

Temple Hadimba
Manali has many attractions but the most interesting, both in history and archeology, of course, is the Temple Dhungiri or temple dedicated to Goddess Hadimba (Arimbi), the wife of Bhima, a character in the famous story Mahabharata.

This temple has a four-storey pagoda-shaped roof. The entrance was carved with images of legends and symbols. The temple is located in a cedar forest is only about 1 ½ miles from the tourist office, a pleasant experience to stroll in the temple complex which was built in 1533 after AD. A big festival is held in this place every May

Tibetan monasteries
There are three newly built monasteries, where visitors can buy carpets and other handicrafts made in Tibet. Two of them are in town and one is located at Aleo on the left side of the river beas.

Vashist Hot Water Source Currency
Vashist, a small village on the left side of the river Beas near Rohtang Pass is a decent place to visit. This place is famous for temples and hot water springs.

Nearby there is a pyramidal stone temple dedicated to Vashist Muni. Here there are also other temples are the temples of Lord Ram. Source of natural sulfur hot springs with bathing pools for men and women separately are always filled with tourists.

Rohtang Pass
Rohtang Pass is 31 miles from Manali highway leading to Keylong / Leh. This place provides spectacular mountain scenery. Pass (a short cut between two mountains) is open from June to October each year although pedestrians can pass early. This is a gateway to Lahaul Spiti, Pangi and Leh valley just as Zojila Pass which is the gateway to Ladakh.

There are peaks and glaciers, beautiful galsier and Chandra river flows down a valley of Lahaul. There is a little bit to the left of the twin peak Geypan. During the summer (mid June to October) there are bus services between Manali and equipment – Keylong / Darcha, Udaipur, Spiti, and Lehby.
His Switzerland-India is rich in charm and beauty. This place is a tourist destination for refreshing in the summer.
